he opioid crisis reached its pinnacle in 2015,when overdose drugs overtook alcohol as the biggest cause of mortality in the United States,with 50,000 deaths,30,000 of which were related to opioids.The problem that many in the media are focusing on is to raise awareness of the opioid usage affects our nation.More than 150 Americans die each day of overdose opium\’s and this number climbed substantially at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2020 and June 2020.The ongoing increase in overdose mortality rates may have contributed to stresses connected to the COVID-19 pandemic,including economic difficulties and other factors that hamper treatment and assistance for persons with substance use difficulties.A social,cultural,and economic challenge that needs a social and cultural reform to curtail the epidemic is the continuous opioid dependency issue.The impact of opium abuse varies between a dependent and the community,and society as a whole (Volkow et al. 2014).Abuse of opioid drugs may have acute and long term repercussions thoughout the whole body of the addict.In addition,the use of opioid products also leads to late work,increased absences,productivity failure and job losses.It also leads to financial difficulties for the dependents and addicts.

Drugs can help treat addiction to opioids,the other two are methadone and buprenorphine.Methadone is incorporated in residential counseling when properly delivered.It helps reduce retirement and address appetites,commonly referred to as assisted detox.The treatment of opioid addiction includes medications,psychotherapy and behavioral therapy.It can also incorporate therapy that provides a full approach to treatment for the patient,which can improve the likelihood of recovery(Brown,2018).The prescription buprenorphine also alleviates opioid fancy without the same amount as other opioid medicinal products.Therefore,these drugs activate opioids receptors inside the corpse that are effective and similar in terms of safety and adverse effects,and decrease appetite.They can also be used to contain opioids,which have served to treat an opioid addict more effectively.It helps reduce the reliance for opium when tapered.

I would propose counseling and behavioral therapies,as well as home and impatient care for a family member or acquaintance enduring opiate dependence.Counseling helps to change their attitude and conduct in the face of opium usage and also helps improve healthy living skills,treatment forms and medications to prevent addiction(Coon et al.,2022).Group consultation can also be useful since it enables the addict to learn new approaches to addiction and life difficulties.Where an opioid is overdosed by a friend or family member,it is advised that they be using Naloxone,to avoid relapse.The residential programs include combined treatment and accomodation while living with colleagues.Intensive outpatient therapy integrats hospital based therapeutic regimens.
