My question is, Why do OBGYN not measure the plcenta during regular prenatal visits using a 2d Ultrasound?

OBGYN often ensure that the safety of a pregnant mother and that of the fetus are guaranteed at the different stages of pregnancy. In case of defects in the fetus, OBGYN can use ultrasound to be more accurate in detecting potential fetal abnormalities. Expectant mothers are also encouraged to attend to all antenatal visits to reduce any risks associated with the pregnancy. 2d ultrasound of the placenta is an example of what the OBGYN do identify the health and wellbeing of the fetus. However, this procedure is rarely done during prenatal visits as will be demonstrated. The research question that will inform this PICOT evaluation is; why do OBGYN not measure the placenta during regular prenatal visits using a 2d Ultrasound?
