Introduction
In any healthcare setting, healthcare providers have to guarantee the delivery of quality care. However, the emergence of pandemics, such as COVID-19 is set to change the way healthcare is managed in the world. The increased infection rates and the lack of a clear understanding of how the spread of the infection can be stopped only raise the anxiety on the implications that will come thereafter. In the US, contradictory information continues to emerge regarding how the infection can spread, the availability of the vaccine, protecting measures, among other dimensions.
The main stakeholders in all these arguments are the healthcare provider and specifically the healthcare managers whose responsibility is key not only during but also after the end of the virus. This paper will focus on the changes that healthcare managers must adopt as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This task will demonstrate that healthcare managers have to adopt home-based care programs, optimizing their staffing levels at all times and finally seek to incorporate technology in their healthcare practices as a way of preparing for similar situations in future.

The Need for Home-Based Care
Home-based care has shown to be the most feasible way through which infectious diseases can be controlled. However, the use of these programs remains under-utilized, leading to extensive congestion in different healthcare settings. Garriga et al., (2020) argues that the emergence of COVID-19 is a reminder to the healthcare stakeholders to embrace home-based programs not just when such emergencies occur. Studies have shown that home-based care helps achieve faster healing since it allows the provision of individualized services tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient. Additionally, this section will demonstrate that with the increased volumes of hospitalized patients, the use of home-based care is the most feasible way to guarantee quality care at the time of such pandemics.

Optimizing Staff
The emergence of COVID-19 has been a reminder of the shortage of healthcare workers that most of the US healthcare facilities face. Such a shortage can be a remarkable hindrance to the provision of quality care when an infectious disease of this nature occurs. With the increase in the number of patients that may need care, it is up to the healthcare managers to ensure they have enough workforce to help manage the condition. According to Moazzami et al., (2020), the best remedy measure in preparing and responding to infectious and other diseases is to equip facilities with enough healthcare workforce. This claim is true since most healthcare managers have to grapple with the limited workforce, and the situation is even dire when the very workforce gets infected with the disease.
Adopting Telehealth
Technology and evidence-based care are one of the most important aspects of healthcare delivery that healthcare managers must consider. According to Ohannessian, Duong & Odone, (2020), the risk of cross-contamination and the risk of the spread of the infection can be managed by adopting telehealth services. According to the CDC, the use of telehealth helps deliver acute, chronic as well as specialty care. The technology can be used to screen patients that may show symptoms of COVID-19. Additionally, it can be used to provide support and coaching services for patients that have the underlying conditions.
Conclusion
This essay shows that with the emergence of COVID-19, healthcare managers have to establish strategies and policies as part of the mitigation measure. Some of the intervention measures that will be adopted during and after the pandemic include adopting home-based care programs, ensuring there are enough trained healthcare providers and utilizing technology. The adoption of these measures provides a feasible way through which healthcare facilities/managers are prepared to manage emerging healthcare challenges.

Health Management After COVID-19
Name:
Institution of Affiliation:

Topic summary and rational
My healthcare topic for my capstone project is “Healthcare Management in the World of COVID 19”. The emergence of the Corona pandemic has placed the healthcare sector as one of the key stakeholders in guaranteeing a safe society. Furthermore, the emergence of the pandemic is likely to change how healthcare decisions are made, and healthcare managers across the world must provide a ray of hope as the pandemic’s implications continue to be severe.
The goal of this work is to explore some of the strategies that healthcare managers can use to manage changes that may come with corona and other similar healthcare pandemics. Additionally, how are healthcare managers likely to go around the issue of workforce safety in times of crisis? The topic that I have outlined herein is so much relevant to me as I have passionately worked at management levels in a different healthcare setting. COVID-19 reminds me of the time of healthcare emergencies while working for 911. As argued by Ferrara & Albano, (2020) it calls for courage, skills and competency for management to respond to such healthcare situations.
This topic is worth in that it helps policymakers to have a clear overview of the role that healthcare managers have in mitigating healthcare emergencies. The new perspective that this research will bring is a holistic approach in positioning managers as central players in mitigating challenges that come with healthcare emergencies (Damery et., 2010). This research will rely on both qualitative and quantitative research and a systematic review of the literature. Relevant and most recent literature about healthcare management at times of emergencies will be evaluated.

Thesis Statement
Healthcare managers are set to adopt home-based care programs, optimize staffing and adopt technology as an aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Supporting claim 1: Advancing home-based care programs.
Topic sentence: With the increased rate of patient admissions due to COVID-19, home-based care is the most feasible way to reduce congestion at hospitals and cut down on infections.
Claim and support of the claim: Ferrara & Albano, (2020) argues that it is important that healthcare managers think of home-based care even after the end of COVID. As healthcare resources continue to be stretched, the most feasible solution is to manage conditions when the patient is at home as that reduces congestion and the possibility of HAI.
Support claim 2: Optimize staffing
Topic sentence: The current shortage of healthcare providers in the US can be an undoing for proper mitigation of infections such as COVID, and hence healthcare organizations must be well equipped with the workforce.
Claim and support of the claim: The emergence of COVID-19 has shown that hospital volumes could increase tremendously and hence stretch the resources in healthcare facilities. It is thus critical that facilities have enough workforce to manage similar conditions.
Support claim 3: Telehealth should be part of healthcare delivery
Topic Sentence: COVID-19 is a reminder that the risk of cross-contamination can be better reduced by adopting telehealth.
Claim and support of the claim: COVID-19 and other infectious diseases can be managed better by reducing cross-contamination. For telehealth to be effective, managers have no option than to be incorporated in the health system routinely.
Conclusion
The emergency of COVID-19 is bound to impact on healthcare delivery across the globe. Managers must, therefore, be ready to adopt emerging changes towards the delivery of quality care. This task has shown that some of the expected changes that managers have to contend with include embracing home-based care, optimizing on the number of staff and lastly seek to embrace telehealth as that is the best way to reduce the spread of infections. COVID-19 is therefore set to bring significant changes that managers have to comply with going forward.
